Mrs. Leah Vomhof, Principal

Leah Vomhof, principal of Blue Valley Northwest High School, holds a degree in secondary social studies education from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. She earned her school leadership endorsement from Fort Hays State University.

Throughout her career in education, Vomhof has taught social studies at both the middle and high school levels and has served as an instructional coach, assistant principal and high school curriculum and career and technical education (CTE) coordinator. She joined Blue Valley Northwest in 2022 as the assistant principal overseeing curriculum and instruction.

Vomhof looks forward to supporting Blue Valley Northwest’s motivated and engaged Husky student body, as well as working closely with staff and families. Building strong relationships with students, staff and parents remains a top priority for her.

Outside of school, Vomhof enjoys spending time with her family, including two Labrador retrievers. She also enjoys daily morning runs, yoga, reading and baking when time allows.

Mr. Michael Richards. Assistant Principal

Michael Richards serves as assistant principal and athletic director at Blue Valley Northwest High School. He began his career in Blue Valley in 2016 as a science teacher at Oxford Middle School before moving to BVNW to teach freshman biology and earth/space science. He later served as assistant principal at Leawood Middle School for two years before returning to Blue Valley Northwest in his current role.
